Enrollment

Welcome to Samula Academy! We are thrilled that you are considering enrolling with us. Our school is dedicated to providing a high-quality education and a supportive community for all of our students. We look forward to the opportunity to help your child reach their full potential.

New student enrollment dates April 18th 8:30-10:30 or 6:00-7:00.

Please bring the required paperwork with you.

 

Enrollment Requirements for Kindergarten and New Students to Volusia County

  • Original birth certificate

  • Social Security card

  • Updated physical within one year

  • Immunization record (680 form)

  • Two proofs of residence such as utility bill within the last 30 days, lease, mortgage etc.

  • Driver’s license

  • Court documents if there is a parental custody agreement

  • New Student Entry Form (New to Volusia County Schools)

Enrollment Requirements for Students Transferring from a Volusia County School

Enrollment Process

The open enrollment period for the upcoming school year 2024-2025 will run from February 1st to March 31st. All applications submitted during this period, regardless of whether they are submitted on the first or last day, will be given equal consideration for admission. If the number of applications exceeds the available seats for any grade level, a waitlist will be created using the Lotterease system. This waitlist will be utilized throughout the year to manage any withdrawals.

Enrollment Preferences

  • Sibling preference for current Samsula Academy students, based on grade level availability.

  • Reading Edge Academy, Inc. Governing Board members and employees.

  • Children of Samsula Academy Alumni.

  • Children of Active Military - proof of service will be required at registration.

IMPORTANT - CURRENT SAMSULA ACADEMY FAMILIES: If you added a sibling to the Letter of Intent with your current Samsula Academy student(s), you are still required to complete the online application through Lotterease.

Samsula Academy uses Lotterease for Enrollment

When you see the Lotterease Seal of Transparency and Fairness on a school website, you can be confident that your application will be included in the school lottery fairly and transparently. That is because Lotterease is an independent automated lottery system the school uses to manage its lottery and waitlist. Since Lotterease is a separate system, the school staff do not have the ability to manipulate or adjust the lottery outcome. They must work within the requirements of the system. In addition, all activity with your application is tracked in a history log that you can view at any time by logging into the parent portal. If the school you want your child to attend displays the Lotterease Seal of Transparency and Fairness, you can rest assured that your child will get a fair chance to attend the school.
